What is PirateMap?
PirateMap is a directory and review site for streaming, torrent, direct download, forum and VPN sites. We test each site, give it a score and show whether it is online right now.
Do you host or share any files?
No. PirateMap does not host, upload or link to any file, torrent or stream. We only review websites and link to their home pages. See our disclaimer.
How do you score the sites?
Every site is tested by hand. The overall score out of 10 combines four areas: content and library, design and usability, speed and reliability, and ads and safety. Each review also lists pros and cons and, where available, the results of our own test.
How do you know if a site is down?
Our system checks every site automatically several times a day and shows the result on its status page, together with the response time, the uptime history and any known mirrors. If a site does not open for you but our status says it is up, it is probably blocked by your internet provider.
Are these sites safe to use?
It depends on the site, and each review tells you what to expect. As a rule: use an ad blocker such as uBlock Origin, never install “downloaders”, “players” or browser extensions a site asks for, and scan every file before opening it. Be careful with copycat sites that use the name of a famous site on a different domain.
Do I need a VPN?
For torrent sites, a VPN that allows torrenting is strongly recommended, because your IP address is visible to other users. A VPN also helps when a site is blocked in your country. You can compare the options in our VPN reviews.
A site I use is not on PirateMap. Can you add it?
Yes, suggest it through our contact form. We test every suggestion before adding it, so it may take some time.
How can I report a site that is down or a mistake in a review?
Use the “Report a problem with this site” link on the review, or our contact form. Tell us which site and what is wrong.
How does the user rating work?
Under the score of each review you can rate the site from 1 to 5 paws. Everyone can vote once per site; the votes from all languages are added together, and the average is shown next to our own score.
Which languages is PirateMap available in?
PirateMap is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Russian, Polish and Turkish. Use the language switcher at the top of the page.
Can a site be removed from PirateMap?
Site owners and rights holders can contact us through the removal form. Read our copyright page first to see what to include.
